A one-night stay in February in a fabulous old house. The rooms are furnished in a style in keeping with the amazing wood panelling and other original features. One of the baths even has the authentic Victorian fittings although the plumbing is modern. When built, it was the largest private house in South Island. We stayed one night in November 2005 and had a wonderful experience. The room was with a very personal touch. The second wonderful experience was dinner. Having visited Oamaru many times, I felt it was about time I tried accomodation that was a little more special than the usual mundane motels etc. After all...I deserve it(?). What a find!
