When we opened the front door to our cottage and saw the green lawn, beach and Golden Bay through the far window, I knew we would not be disappointed. My children are in their 20s. My son, younger daughter and I stayed in the cottage closest to the house, and my older daughter and fiance were in the studio adjoining... more

We stayed at Adrift for two nights during our 2-week visit to New Zealand in early March. The cottage was brand new and very lovely. The kitchen had great appliances and we were able to cook our English breakfast each morning. We had a beautiful view of Golden Bay and were able to watch the full moon rise each night.... more

Thank you for the feedback. The category “Nelson” under which we are listed can be a little confusing to overseas visitors as the name is used for both Nelson Province and Nelson City. Nelson Province has two main bays - Golden Bay to the west and north and Tasman Bay to the east. Nelson City itself is in Tasman Bay...

Adrift will certainly rank as the #1 place that I've ever stayed at. I couldn't fault it in any way. The hosts were so helpful, the setting gorgeous and the facilities in the the cottage excellent. The breakfasts are to die for! Treat yourself! more

We made a special detour to Golden Bay and Adrift due to rave reviews from some friends who had stayed there last April. Despite 2 days of mostly rain, it was fabulous. The hosts were gracious and informative about the history and sites to see in the area. (Don't miss Puponga Farm Park and Wharakiki Beach or the Mussel Inn... more

Well, what can we say. We noticed the Adrift before we left the UK but were not sure of our travel plans, so we didn't book until we were in Marlborough and realised that we would be able to get over to Golden bay, luckily there was an beach apartment available. This was the highlight of the stays during this... more

We spent 3 nights at Adrift over Christmas. We arrived on Christmas Eve in appalling weather, but we were helped across to our room with all our luggage & wine. We had room 1 & it was great, like a little house really, with a small kitchen & living room. We couldn't see the view due to the bad weather,... more

This little B&B offers the most fantastic slice of Paradise you could wish to find! Gordon & Bess are the most friendly and helpful hosts you could wish to find and nothing was too much trouble. The view from the breakfast deck of the B&B is to die for and we didn't move far from it. It has to be... more

What a truly wonderful find. We stayed here at the beginning of December 2006 and the only slightly disappointing thing was that the weather was a bit cool! The accommodation was superb and spotlessly clean - the kitchen was very well equipped and it was so wonderful to eat outside on the decking with the sea almost at your feet.... more

We stayed here for three nights in October 2006 and it was fabulous. The cottages are even nicer than they look on the website and of a really high spec. They deck is fantastic and it made a real treat to enjoy the delicious breakfast hamper outside whilst taking in the view. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower... more

The moment we saw Adrift we were lost - it's absolutely wonderful. It's situated in a lovely garden that leads (between two palm trees) down to a perfect, empty golden beach. From that moment I wished we were staying longer even though we were there for 5 nights. Bess and Gordon, our host and hostess, made us so welcome and... more
