My husband and I spent three nights at Wakefield Quay in February and wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely return here as there is still much to do in Nelson. Woodi and Johnny are wonderful hosts and Woodi is a whizz in the kitchen. Breakfast was always different and delicious and we enjoyed wine and nibbles on... More

My wife and I stayed at Wakefield Quay House for three nights in early January. We chose it partly because of the very positive reviews it has received on Trip Advisor- we were not disappointed! The location and accommodation are really excellent and the hosts, Woodi and Johnny, were hugely welcoming, helpful and entertaining. Nothing was too much trouble and... More

Stunning views over the water front, convenient and nicely decorated rooms with an eye for detail, delicious breakfast (and every day a surprise what's on the breakfast menu!) and top notch hospitality. If that isn't enough, host Woodi provides all the tips and trics to enjoy the wider Nelson area to the fullest, Woodi is your nr. 1 guide! If... More

Wakefield Quay House is Fab Plus!! What a place to visit. We really lucked out here. We stayed with Woodi and Johnny for 5 nights and we felt so welcome that it became a true home away from home. I can't express enough how gracious and fun both Woodi and Johnny are. They welcomed us with open arms and looked... More

Wakefield Quay House is such a treat!!! The house itself is absolutely beautiful and tastefully restored. The views from the front deck and the rooms are amazing - mountains and beautiful turquoise water. However, the best part of your stay will be the warm welcome you receive from the hosts, Woodi and Johnny. They were so generous of both their... More

Wakefield quay house is a beautiful old homestead that has been lovingly restored and renovated. Our room and bathroom were fantastic with amazing views. Woody and Johnny were great hosts. There are three good restaurants in walking distance. Would highly recommend this B&B. More

Our room with outside balcony was tastefully furnished with everything you would expect from a luxury establishment and included wifi and an ipod. Our view was directly over the harbour and that included the bathroom. The bed was wonderfully comfortable with fabulous pillows and linen and we slept really well on our two nights here. Pre-dinner wine and nibbles were... More

Had a fantastic stay here during the Nelson Arts Festival. A beautifully restored two story House handy to the city with breathtaking views across the harbour from almost every room. The icing on the cake though is the warmth and hosptality of hosts Woodi and Johnny who made our stay an absolute joy. We were made to feel thoroughly at... More

We were greeted on our arrival by Johnny, one of the owners of Wakefield Quay. He is a lovely warm character, who showed us to our fantastic room overlooking the sea, settled us in and then offered us tea in the big, warm kitchen/breakfast room. This house has been lovingly restored to its former glory by Johnny and his wonderful... More
