We have just returned from our 4th stay at Joya. We have stayed in the Studio Apartment on each visit. The apartment has a tasteful, austere opulence. Paulina is generous, welcoming and unobtrusive. The facilities are practical and well maintained. We first visited as a couple. 5 years later we have found our toddler readily settled in his 'cave' made... More

We arrived at Joya after a long journey and were greeted by Paulina so warmly that we immediately felt as if we had arrived at a home away from home. The garden studio is all that one can wish for and the two main criteria for weary travellers - a good bed and a good shower - were top notch.... More

We recently had the most fantastic 3 nights staying at Joya B and B. The owner Pauline went way beyond the call of duty to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, and was extremely helpful when my husband broke a rib mountain biking on day 2. We loved the tranquil setting and comfortable, nurturing atmosphere of the place. There was... More

We stayed in the Garden Villa where we had a wonderful view of a gorgeous well maintained pond/garden area with lots of flowers and wildlife. The Garden Villa was very private, with a deck with a sun lounger and table and chairs for breakfast in the sun (and a sun umbrella for those very hot afternoons!). The inside was immaculate... More

Well situated close to Nelson town centre. The gardens are lovely and being in the basement of the main house we had a private veranda with sun lounger and settee, which we enjoyed making use of! As another reviewer has mentioned, it is possible to hear footsteps in the house above, but they are not loud and definitely not a... More

We had a wonderful 'mini-moon' at Joya, sans children. The host is very accomodating. The breakfast is AMAZING - far nicer than anything you can get in a cafe - and with lots of home-made love in it. We missed out on the garden studio (next time...) - but had a very nice stay in the villa studio. The beds... More

We stayed at Joya the first 3 nights of our family tour to NZ South Island and it was a great start . Pauline is so friendly and lovely and this i learnt before we met from our booking correspondence and it was the main reason I choose this place which turned to be one of our best choices. The...
