A wonderful place to stay, near the downtown area and yet situated on a park, so not too hectic. Comfortable beds, clean and spacious enough, with thoughtful touches. Mike and Helen are well-versed in local culture and geography, and can steer you to good restaurants and shops.

This was our first stop in NZ, and we were not disappointed. The breakfast is huge for a continental - a nice variety of local fruit, cereal, yogurt, a choice of toast and juices, all the tea, coffee and milk you want, and a good assortment of spreads for the bread.

The front verandah is fun to sit on and people watch. Lots of books and games if it's raining and you just want to stick around. Nelson is an excellent city for visitors, and this is a good place to stay while visiting it. more
