We stayed at this place for 2 nights in order to see some of the sights in Kakadu and because we had never visited the park before, we had no idea what to expect or where to stay. As it turned out, Aurora was the only accomodation left available for our intended stay so we had no choice. However, we... more

The Aurora is not as luxurious as some of it's competitors in kakadu but for the price is excellent value. There is a lot more wildlife present here than at the Crocodile Holiday Inn and at half the price is great for a night. I didn't see any bugs in my room other than a harmless gecko which is to... more

We stayed at this hotel for one night while traveling through Australia with a group of 42 teenagers from the US. As we were on the tour bus for a while, it seemed as this hotel was out of the way. We pulled in after dark and immediately the manager instructed us to use the walkway because there were a... more

This is in the middle of nowhere, about 30 minutes from the closest town. The setting is nice, spacious with a pool a restaurant and a bar/grill. When we arrived (we were with a tour group) our booking had been lost (strike 1). We had to wait till they eventually sorted out everyone else and finally retrieved our booking. They... more

I recently stayed here for 3 days. It seems that the complex has renovated its room as the one we had was quite stylish. Alas the renovations had not extended to the bathroom as it was still "70's" style all the way. Apart from that, the rooms are very comfortable and the pool is an oasis in the middle of... more

Motel with both budget and "de luxe" accommodation. After the long drive from Darwin and the seemingly endless Bush, this seems something of a pleasant , green oasis. There is plenty of birdlife in the well-kept lawned grounds. Reception staff are efficent and friendly. However, the "deluxe rooms"show their age--we stayed here 5 years ago and nothing seems to have... more

This place is not worth the money. The bar is o.k., the bbq facility is alright. But that's about it. Our room was large, but it was dirty and needed some renovation. The bath was awful. Some of the staff was helpful and friendly, some of it was not at all. I would rather spend some more money and stay... more

Kakadu is a fascinating place to visit, located near the South Alligator River on the Kakadu Highway, about a 2.5 hour drive from Darwin. It is a a few kilometers drive from the resort to a wetlands area with a viewing blind that is accessible via a short walk from a small car park. Our visit to the viewing blind... more

I spent three days there. I have just returned from a month travelling across the USA and was interested to see how remote accommodation stacked up. Aurora Kakadu is about 200km's from Darwin so it could have problems with facilities like water and power. In fact it is very lush with beautifully maintained grounds and pool. The buildings are basic... more

Stayed here for one night only after leaving the Bark Hut Inn in disgust. Really DO NOT stay at Bark Hut. Its disgusting and the rooms aren't worth $10AUD let alone $60. This place is only just a bit further along the road and i would certainly stay here again. Anyhow this place is clean and comfortable. The rooms are... more
