My friend and I stayed in an ensuite twin room in the Springvale Homestead in Katherine for one night. Springvale is about a 10 minute drive outside of Katherine.
The room was in a multi-roomed cabin. The sheets were clean, there was a fridge, towels and soap were provided and the air conditioning was effective. The park manager was pleasant (make sure you arrive before 7, as reception is not staffed after this). It is possible to see many wallabies grazing around the site, which is nice.
On the down side, the room really needs redecorating. The wall paper is tired, and the floor looks dirty (even if it isn't). The bathroom was very hot, and needs refurbishing. I think it could potentially be quite noisy when it is more busy, as the walls are fairly thin (currently it is the low season in December).
The park offers camping, but I can't comment on the facilities for that.
The room was cheap, and basically you get what you pay for. It was OK...
