There are only 4 hotels in the Ayers Rock region and they are all owned by the same company and are all in the same complex. The upside is that you can take the free shuttle to all the hotels to find the restaurant that best suits you. The downside is there is no competition so there are many problems.... more

This hotel is located at the entrance (almost) of the Uluru Park. Rooms are nice and beds comfortable. Staff is OK but there is no breakfast directly in the hotel. In fact it's a complex with some restaurants so that you have to choose where you want to eat. Breakfast is not included. Ideal to visit Uluru at the sunset... more

I stayed in this hotel long time ago with my mother, it was March 2003. We stayed in a deluxe room on the 2nd floor. The room and the bathroom were large and from the balcony, we could see the Ayers Rock. It was amazing to us! It was quite expensive, Actually all hotels in the region were very expensive.... more

On deciding to book a package tour of Ayers Rock and Kings Canyon with AAT Kings, we had a choice of accommodation. After a bit of research including reading TA reviews, we decided on Desert Gardens as we weren't prepared to pay the extra for Sails and wanted a bit better than the budget accommodation. Because we had done our... more

This building of this hotel looks a bit run down from the outside, but the inside is actually good enough. It's clean, spacious and has enough room amenities. Location is good and close (walking distance) to the city centre for shops and dining options. Value for money? It's quite expensive for the type of room that you get but we... more

We stayed at Desert Gardens for two nights of our month long trip of a lifetime honeymoon to Australia in December 2008. We stayed in a deluxe room which had a distant view of Uluru and have no complaints with the hotel or our room. The resort itself is expensive (8AUS$ for a loaf of bread!!!) although this is to... more

Spent two nights here in the middle of a two week trip to Australia. Read many reviews and realized that no matter which hotel we chose in the Ayers Rock complex, none were great. Due to the reviews we read, we were not surprised when we arrived by the blandness and overall worn out look of the room Booked two... more

All hotels here are owned by the one parent company, so whether you are a camper, backpacker, or visitor with cash to spare, you have no choice but to stay within this resort complex. It is unlikely that you will spot an Australian working at any hotel or restaurant. More likely your experience will be of dealing with hotel staff... more

Thankfully we were only here two days and the weather was truly awful. The area is just a monopoly with little or no choice of anything, from buses to meals. Our hotel room was clean but we were at the back of the hotel and a tangle of overgrown bushes encroached onto our terrace, which meant that, had the weather... more

Stayed here for two nights with my wife and two children (12 & 9). Pleased with our choice as was certainly very comfortable and the Sails Hotel is not worth the extra (having viewed the facilities). All the Voyages hotels are in the same area, linked by a tour bus, so we ate in different hotels. Did the Sounds of... more
