What a lovely little place. The guys managing it are really friendly and will go out of their way to help you with anything they can. The place is really clean, warm and in a beautiful location. Comfy beds and with a good lay out. The lodge is a backpackers (although one of the better one’s I’ve stayed in – check out the BBH for a comprehensive list of some of the best backpackers in NZ – follow the ratings!!) and they also have a brand new unit which is beautiful and more 5* hotelish!! We were lucky enough to get shown round the new ‘cottage’ and it really was beautiful. Brand new, GREAT value and again beautifully laid out. (One is an en-suite and the other unit is more like a one bedroom apartment).

Arrowtown is definitely the place to stay to get a real feel of this area (over Queenstown). If you like things a little more sedate and quiet but near enough to the action to be able to appreciate it – but then escape!! BEAUTIFUL place, some great walks and very... more
