Loved meeting people from around the world. I thought the vacationers were very diverse. The staff was very friendly. Loved Luis and Augustine. Just great people. Weather was terrible, we had rain 3 days out of 7. The entertainment staff more than made up for the weather woes as they kept you moving, dancing, games, and all round fun. We stayed at this resort Jan 18th to Jan 25th and had the only complaint we had was that the buffet food wasn't as hot as it should be. As this is a problem with most buffets everywhere there are ways to get around it. We didn't go to any of the restaurants but found the quality of the buffet... more

A lot has been said about this resort, both good and bad. We spent one week there and other than some rain, and a 26 hour trip from Toronto (obviously not the resort's fault), we felt we got exactly what we paid for... and more! 1st about the weather: it rained 10 days out of 14 and we were told that it rains more in Samana then anywhere else in the D.R. due to the mountains. Positive: Beach was very clean, beautiful, sandy.
