First of all,Lets remember we are staying in the Carribean, and not Europe, the US, or even some cities in Asia! We are not in a high end tourist trap, Or a tourist trap at all for that matter. If you are looking for a "real vacation" for a real taste of local culture, In a beautifu island setting. Las... more

Have stayed here numerous times and always enjoyed it. The ladies in charge are fine hosts, property very well maintained and the gardens very attractive. One of our favorites in the D/R more

Date: 23rd March 2006 Reviewer: A Swiss Couple We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Playa Colibri Resort. We had a really nice apartment with a large balcony overlooking the beautiful garden with lots of tropical flowers, the fantastic pool and the sea. The apartment was cleaned every day. We did not want an all-incl. hotel and... more

The Hotel Colibri very much reflects its environment. It is friendly, it is casual and it is also just a bit rough around the edges. Now don't get me wrong, this is not a terrible place. But reading the rave reviews here after a recent stay in the Hotel compels me to offer my own opinion. For travelers either accustomed... more

We spent one night at Colibri then checked out because even though it is a nice friendly place, the road in front is extremely noisy with motorcycle traffic. I loved the pool though. We were sorry to check out but we wanted peace and quiet and it was not to be found on this busy road (contrary to some writings,... more

I was there last week and only have wonderful thing to say about Hotel Colibri. It's a beautiful spot in Las Terrenas. The beach is great and clean. While there a large manta ray beached itself and we saw lots of fish, sea rays and baby octopus. You can snorkle right from the beach. The hotel is comfortable and the staff... more

During our vacations in November 2004 we passed in our rental car Las Terrenas and stayed in the hotel two nights. GROUNDS: Beautiful. The buildings are arranged u-shaped around a big place with the swimming pool and tropical gardens. The restaurant is on edge to the street, uncomfortably near. Unfortunately you have to cross the "dirt track main avenue" to... more

When I booked the Colibri I was already aware of its reputation for spacious accommodations, terrific service and beach front location. However, its restaurant was much maligned and nearly without exception professional reviewers said eat elsewhere. It was therefore with much trepidation that I began my two week stay with dinner at the Colibar, the hotel restaurant. Much to my... more

I just returned from Las Terranas after a weeks stay at the Hotel Colibri and I am thrilled to recommend it as a taste of heaven on earth. The spacious, well equipped and well maintained apartments are a home away from home. The hotel grounds and idyllic natural setting is really breathtaking. And the gracious and helpful staff treated me... more
