Our first challenge was finding this place!! There are no signs on the road or on the front of the hotel. Apparently they are "working on it". The rooms were nice and spacious. They have a great pool area which has zero shade!! They definitely need to fix this, but a staff member said the owners think that poles/sails, etc... more

The Kimberley Grande hotel in Kununurra is new and has excellent facilities. The rooms are very large. We had a 'superior queen' which came with a couch and coffee table which is a rarity in hotel rooms in the Kimberley area. Only 10 minute walk from the city, with a Thrifty Car rental (strongly recommend) in a street behind a hotel. The is a beautiful lake in the front of the hotel, where you can see the lake appeared after the Kununurra Dam was build, seeing few dead tree tops in the water. Rooms and facilities were clean and light, pool is nice. What made it for us was the young but super helpful reception staff who couldn't have been friendlier. more

The hotel as it's called "Grande" but so is the price. First impressions are superb as you drive up into the spectacular entrance you are quite suprised. The Hotel has a very nice Restaurant & Bar with excellent food, and a huge pool, also has a guest laundry. The rooms a very spacious with a small outdoor setting at rear. more

no offer of porterage, poor concierge skills, glorified motel, one page of info about the hotel (?) and even then there were errors eg reception opening times. staff helpful but inadequately staffed more

I was up in Kununurra for work and stayed in the Durak Spa Suite. Upon entering the room, my jaw hit the ground and didn’t return for quite a few minutes. The quaility of the Kimberley Grande surprised me in this remote part of Australia. The room was very spacious, modern and clean.The restaurant served excellent meals, though were very expensive. The staff were very helpful and friendly, in fact I made a point to see the manager before I left to tell his so - I have never done that... more
