If you are saving your money for a splurge on another night as we did, the BW Colonial Palms fits the bill. Airlie Beach is not short on accommodation choices but the cost does vary. The rooms look out on the swimming pool which is quite pleasant, but there is not much beyond that to see. Location wise, the 'strip'... more

We stayed for two nights after reading the write up on the road in the Lonely Planet Queensland guidebook. The outside of the Motel looks like it has recently been cleaned or renovated which gives a good impression when you arrive. We opted for a renovated room (downstairs) which ended up costing about AU$11 a night more than (to quote... more

We stopped at this Best Western before heading out on a cruise around the Whitsundays. The staff were very friendly and could not be more helpful and nothing was too much trouble, the room was functional with a new flat screen TV, air con and ours open out to the pool (fantastic feature). The hotel is about 500m from the... more

My husband, nephew and I stayed at this hotel for one night after arriving at Airlie Beach by bus in the evening. The hotel is about 10 minute walk from the bus terminal, it was convenient for us given the bus drop-off location. The price for the room was also fairly reasonable considering what other hotels were charging for a... more

We found this by mistake after we missed a connecting ferry and had to stay overnight in Airlie Beach. This was exactly what we needed for just an overnight stay. It was cheap ($100/night) with two lovely looking pools as well as all the basics (bed, bar fridge, tv, dine-in area outside) and yes, it was all clean. We were... more

Stayed here for two seperate nights either side of an overnight reef cruise. One night was booked as part of a free night using fly buy points. Upon arrival the lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We had a room upstairs which was very basic and a little dated but suited our needs. The hotel was... more

First of all Airlie Beach is a very difficult place to find a decent hotel that is under $200 a night for 4 people. After seraching for hours for a hotel I settled on the Colonial Palms. We arrived at this hotel at 10:30PM at night and the man at the front desk seemed nice. We were booked for a... more

Rooms were clean but very basic and decor comprised little more than paint directly onto breeze-blocks - it felt like being in the toilet block of a campsite. Bathroom was functional only, it was shabby, smelled damp and the mozzie netting was ripped. The pool was quite nice and the service reasonably friendly, but that didn't make it worth the... more

Hotel was 10 minutes walk out of town and had no atmosphere whatsoever. Rooms are very basic and unwelcoming. Left early to find somewhere livelier. more
