What a pity to witness the decline of what was once an excellent and beautiful place!! Having booked thru wotif, we found our room to be large enough, but obviously had not been properly cleaned for ages ( thick dust and glass rings on the table), no clock in the room, In the bathroom was a display of dead flies... more

My partner and I stayed here last weekend. I was very wary after reading the reviews on this site so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We were after somewhere cheap for the night as we were doing some early morning trekking on the Sunday. Firstly this place is definitely not a resort yet that was pretty obvious as... more

This place has changed, do not waste your money. They do not do any repairs, the place is filthy, check your mini bar for out of date stuff, the pool is a mess, the gardens are sad, The staff are great and i think they have a lot to put up with with their greedy owners, The breakfast is awful... more

We have stayed at the "resort" many times over the years. This year there was a major change - HOPELESS. The breakfast usually excellent was CRAP Room: A/C did not work, the phone did not work and the clock radio did not work. The room were dirty, someone's PJs were in the bathroom, Towels left on the floor etc etc... more

We stayed here last night because of the good last minute rate and the convenience of the location. The location is great and the autumn trees in the garden spectacular. Several years ago the standard was excellent but it has dropped off since then. Having been disappointed last time and on reading the previous reviews we were a bit cautious... more

What ashame as this 'resort' has so much potential, it is in a great location. But unfortunately it is so far from a resort, it's a motel and a average one at that. I stayed there for a wedding in March 2009 just for one night. The room was tidy but dirty, the bin in the bathroom was full and... more

The room was not particularly clean - dead insects on the window sills and dusty. The outside spa was fifthy. Grey slime in the water (I wasn't getting in!) . In addition there were dirty glasses plus ciggarette butts around the spa for two days until we complained. The spa was clean enough to use on the third day. The... more

I have stayed at this hotel over many years and have seen many different owners come and go and it has always been consistent. The company that currently own it (York) should not even be in the hotel business. Basil Fawlty could run this hotel better than this lot. They have taken a solid and once well respected hotel and... more

We were recommended this 'resort' but initially had trouble making a reservation as the online booking facility wasn't working and emails went ignored so we booked by phone. Apparently management has changed recently, and things don't seem to be going well. On check-in we were attended by a young Chinese man who was doing his best, but was having some... more
