Came to Caloundra for a wedding which was at Crowne Plaza Pelican waters, opted to stay more centrally in Caloundra itself to be close to the beach. We booked a roof top 2 bedroom room. First disappointment was the rooftop spa, sauna, bbq is not attached to your room. You leave your room and climb up the fire escape to your private rooftop terrace. It is not private. The entry is a flyscreen door and wall which anyone walking past can see right in. After a very average stay in Brisbane we were pleasantly surprised by the Rolling Surf Resort in Caloundra. We were primarily staying in Caloundra to be near Australia Zoo (the kids were desperate to go!). The rooms are great, very beachy feel, nice and light and airy. The Rolling Surf Resort is located right on Kings Beach at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. The resort complex includes one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses, either pool or ocean views are available.
