For about the last 6 years I have been travelling to Cowes for Melbourne Cup weekend. Dont bother staying here. It lacked character and comfort and the hotel owners were not friendly and approachable and almost made you feel awkward for staying. Very, Very basic room for the amount of money. Anything additional such as internet use was very expensive and you had to pay for the hire of a DVD player ($10)..we didnt bother. Choose... more
We are always friendly and approachable to all our guests, even the unfriendly & unapproachable ones. The internet use is $3.00 & is there for guest convenience and is certainly not compulsory. DVD hire is $10, however we have 3 extra movie channels via Austar which are available 24 hours a day and are free.
worth of your money to stay here. Came all the way from Finland to stay at Phillip Island and stayed at Seahorse Motel. Clean and confortable rooms at good price. more
Stayed with my boyfriend for one night on the 9th of May, when we arrived the male owner was very friendly and helpful with attractions etc, check-in however was L-O-N-G and he kept telling his kid to get off the computer. Visitors to Victoria should be aware of the fact that everything (including hotel receptions and restaurants) closes extremely rarely, with 9 pm being the norm. Whilst we enjoy good reviews on this site we are also naturally sensitive to criticisms. This review does accurately describe the room mentioned and the price that would have been charged for a single night in the peak season. Stayed here in February 2008. We arrived on Phillip Island without any accommodation booked. After driving around looking at motels we choice this one due to the location (easy walk to the main street). Check in was very quick and easy. We stayed here on 15th March 2007 and chose the motel because it looks like it has just been painted and in the process of being re-vamped.. Rooms were comfortable and v.clean.
