Sorry about not reviewing this hotel before now (I stayed there Feb 2006!), but I had forgotten about it until I saw it again when looking on Google Street View.
The location is what prompted me to stay. It's 100 metres off the Great Ocean Road and about a kilometre from "downtown" Lorne, with an OCEAN VIEW towards the beautiful Southern Ocean.
Our room was an unusual split level room. The bathroom was at the rear of the room where you walk in and the sleeping area of the room was a few steps down from the entry level. Please consider that if mobility is an issue.
The room was clean and bright, the beds were comfortable but what really sold me on the room was the patio/balcony that overlooked the ocean. In the morning, the sunrise streamed into the room and bathed us in its warmth.
There was a convenient guest laundry that we used.
