We booked a 3 bedroom apartment expecting to find a small place with 3 bedrooms and 1 shared bathroom. Nicely surprised to find 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 toilets, large family/dining area and balcony. All staff were very friendly, the apartment was serviced every day, the whole complex was very clean and well maintained. Location and facilities were excellent and... more

We were given a room next to a car park and construction site.! The Tv reception was very poor. The room above us made so much noise, I could actually here them in the toilet! ew! Then the clincher, the bed was sooooo hard we both woke up with back aches! For $301 a night we expected more. So ok,... more

My experience of Abbey Beach Resort was very mixed. There wasn't anything really wrong with it, but it is overpriced and the website's claim of 'luxury accomodation' is laughable. In terms of positives, it does have a nice location on the beach and good facilities (tennis courts, bikes to hire, swimming pools etc). Also the kitchen facilities in our room... more

We arrived at our studio room only to find out that the view was of construction happening next door. Thankfully we were professionally and promptly organised by the front office manager into a one bedroom appartment with a significantly better view - and hence more relaxing for our little escape from our busy life. The room was functional, but the... more

We were looking for an apartment to spend our holidays with our friends in Western Australia and this just looked like the perfect spot in the south west as it is at the entrance of the Margaret River area and is just next to the beach. However, our expectations were not met by this so called 5 star hotel. To... more

We stayed here in low season for 4 nights. We stayed in one of the two bedroomed apartments they have. These were well equipped with washing machine, full kitchen, TV with DVD player and plenty of space. The units however are a little old and it showed in places. As stated before the staff were not too friendly but they... more

Checked into resort on a thursday afternoon, found reception staff to be efficient, but not overly friendly. Room was clean and general facilities of resort appear well maintained. The location to the ocean is excellent. Resident artist is amazing and very friendly. Went to have dinner in cafe on this evening, as restraunt was closed, only to discover that cafe... more

My husband and I have just had a weekend at the Abbey Beach Resort and we were quite disappointed. We requested a pool view room (as it was our anniversary) and instead we got a view of a neighbouring building site and car park. Now in the height of summer I wouldn't expect them to grant a request as they... more

Unfortunately not all requests can be met. We were actually full in the hotel this weekend, hence the reason we were not able to grant the request. In regards to the bar, we stay open as long as there is people around. Being at the gateway to the wine region, many people spend the day out amongst the wineries and...

Just thought that I would give some feedback as to my recent stay at Abbey Beach Resort. We had booked through their website and had specified that we wanted a queen/king bed and if possible a room with balcony overlooking the pool. When we arrived we were given a room with two singles overlooking the carpark. Knowing that the resort... more

We stayed for 3 nights in March 2009. No problems at all for us except like most places in Australia the pools are too cold, even in Summer. Australia doesn't seem to know about solar heating & pool blankets. more
