A beautiful B&B located in a quiet little village with a fantastic view. The B&B is very clean and fresh and they cook fantastic food. Their cooking classes and morning walks over the hills are outstanding. From Ankhura you can explore other beautiful villages as well, only 30 minutes by car, it´s perfected located. more

This is the perfect B&B in Tuscany. Everything was perfect. The setting is unbelivable and the town is extremely quiet. Gorgeous view and a perfect setting for an old house in Tuscany. The hosts Stina and Lars are wonderful people and will help with many recommendations for dinner and excursions. It is 15 minutes away from Montalcino and close to... more

My wife and I found this fantastic place and went to stay for a long weekend together with another couple that we are frequently traveling with. None of us are beginners when it comes to traveling and also living in Italy but this stay certainly gave us a pay-off that is hard to beat!! The place is run by a... more

We were 4 in our party - two couples - and Ankhura was a real highlight of our 2 weeks in Italy. The little town is very off the beaten path out amongst the olive groves and vineyards and hills - the inn is a modern rustic place - in nice condition though there are no screens on the bedroom... more

Title says it all. We stayed 3 nights and loved it. Lars and Stina were fantastic hosts; the room and house were beautiful and extremely comfortable; breakfasts were delicious; and the location (while remote) was perfectly located for trips to Montalcino and the surrounding countryside. Best place we stayed in Italy - we were sad to leave. Pics on flickr... more

Lars and Stina Ögren have made a fresh, relaxed, joyful and beautiful home-away-from- home out of this old Tuscany house. We had heard about Ankhura and decided to spend our Ruby Wedding Anniversary with good food, good wine, good talk and good walks. After Lars' and Stina's warm welcome late at night, we slept well in very comfortable beds and... more

Magic! We wanted to see how the Italian white truffle was hunted and Lars and Stina organized it with a local farmer. Watching the dogs work was amazing and the hillside breakfast after the hunt (scrambled eggs with truffles followed by Prosecco) was a beautiful Al fresco highlight. Great winery tour and many interesting places to visit. Lars and Tina... more

The only way I can describe Ankhura is "perfect". We chose it as the location for a quiet honeymoon on the basis of information provided on their own website coupled with customer reviews. Throughout our nine day stay Lars and Stina proved to be fantastic hosts, providing first class food, local information and great company. Their friendly, honest and informed... more

This was the most delightful B and B we have ever stayed at, with fantastic hosts Lars and Stina. The location is in a remote village off the beeton track but still has many interesting places closeby to visit by car e.g. Montalcino, Montepulcino, Siena.. all the usual delights that Tuscany offers. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Breakfast... more

My husband and I stayed at Ankhura for three nights in October, 2007, and had the most amazing experience we've ever had at a B&B. We were in Italy for our honeymoon, and Ankhura was the perfect relaxing, romantic location anyone could hope for. The drive to Monterongraffoli, just outside of San Giovanni D'Asso, is gorgeous, and there is plenty... more
