Stayed here on a boys golf tour, when we were there it was dominated by golf tours, can't imagine it was very pleasant if you were on a family hols. Yes the rooms do appear tired and in urgent need of refurbishment but everything else about this hotel is 5 star.....best of all are its staff who are friendly, helpful and very professional. more

The service at Dona Filipa was impeccable. The food was lovely - especially the breakfast! We enjoyed our few days at Dona Filipa, the place is a little dated but I much prefer that to a modern characterless place. Very much enjoyed our stay here in June 2009. Hotel is in fabulous location next to a beautiful beach and all the local restaurants of the "Praca". Very disappointed with our stay. When we arrived we were kept waiting for 2 hrs to get into our rooms. When we did eventually boy were we disappointed. Although clean it was dark and very 70's.
