We spent two nights there, and the room felt very very small. The common room / dining room is lovely with a great atmosphere, and we thought the staff was very helpful. We had dinner there twice, and it was good. It is a very steep walk (down) back from the center of town, which was very slippery as it... more
Super romantic hotel. Best Location. Friendly Staff. Small, comfortable, clean Rooms. Great Breakfast. Fair Prices. But don´t have a tapa-lunch in the hotel. it was bad. more
we arrived with the expectation of a small room, after reading the reveiws, and wern' t dissapointed! our greeting was pleasant, the main area spacious & airy and although i am not at all claustrophobic, (my husband is) even i found it difficult to cope with the lack of space, having to send him out to the terrace whenever i... more
We stayed here for our last 2 nights of honeymoon and have to say that we were disappointed. We arrived and were shown our room but there was no welcome and no offer of help with our luggage. It felt like a motel welcome. Christian and his wife were not there on the first day. We later sat next to... more
We stayed at Alavera de los Banos in early June 2005, it's an oasis of delight. This is one of my favorite hotels in Anadalucia. Very professional and friendly staff, a beautiful garden and outlook, lovely little pool that hits the spot when you need to refresh or want to sunbath. Great breakfasts and nice restaurant meals in the evening... more
Overall in Spain, we were disappointed that the concept of B&B hasn't caught on as it has elsewhere. The Alavera is exactly what an excellent could be, even if it doesn't call itself that: personalized rooms, very friendly and helpful owners and staff, outstanding breakfasts of fresh foods, comfortable beds. Our friends' room was small; ours was large but opened... more
The hotel was very nice with a wonderful dinner in their restaurant and a good breakfast. Our room (close to the dining area) looked like it was the only one without a double door but it turned out to be very quiet. It had a large window overlooking a grazing area which gave it a nice rural feeling. It was... more
The hotel was wonderful. Not luxurious by any means, but very cozy and in a picturesque location. I agree completely with the other reviews regarding breakfast - it was fantastic! The only reason I wouldn't give it a full "5" rating is because the room was extremely small (albeit, nicely decorated) and a little bit uncomfortable. Also, keep in mind... more
We drove into Ronda and though we had printed a map off the internet, it was very hard to find this place-be sure and get directions if you're driving. Once there we found it to be in a perfect setting, below the old walls of the city, next to the gorge, and in front of a great view of the... more
