I was amazed at the disparity between the reviews and my own experience. OK, its a nice country pub that does food and rooms but certainly nothing special. Evening meal was OK but a little overpriced. Room was cold. I arrived late and the heating was off and stayed off untill 7.00am Beds were very poor quality. Breakfast was hearty... More

My wife and I stayed at the Anchor Inn for 3 nights. Its a very good base for exploring Somerset and Devon. We were made to feel very welcome and at home by all the staff. There is a very homely feel about the place and you are treated like an old friend. The room was very nice and comfortable and... More

My husband and I stayed here last week for a reunion with a large group of friends (12 of us in all). It was a great location, just 10 minutes from the motorway, as we were travelling from all over the south west. The setting is lovely, out in the countryside. Very peaceful and pretty. The accommodation was very comfortable... More

The office made a booking for us as we had some work to do in the area. What is booked can be hit and miss but in this instance it was a definate hit. The accomodation was pleasant, clean and a good size. We had an evening meal and both our choices were very enjoyable and the service was quick.... More

I stayed here while visiting my daughter, son-in-law and grandson this month. The family and staff at the Anchor could not have been more friendly. They really made me feel welcome, which I was very grateful for, as travelling on my own. They introduced me to some of the friendly locals, which made me feel very at home and able... More

We were recommended the Anchor as a place to stop off on the way down to Cornwall for half term. We weren't disappointed. We booked the family room, which had 2 large bedrooms and a bathroom. There were TVs in both large bedrooms and complimentary refreshments - always goes down well with the children! My sister and family were in... More

a little off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. The rooms were neat and comfortable with loads of extra blankets if you feel a little chilly. The pubs servees an excellent spread for breakfast and dinner and has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere (and a nice selection of ciders).
