Excellent food and top class real ales in a comfortable room with a nice coal fire in the winter. quite bizarrely this pub allows dogs in the bedrooms but you are unable to go in the bar with your dog and have a meal. landlord was unfriendly and un accomodating. stayed at thornton watlass hall there is only one pub in the village so would have been nice to have eaten in there rather than have to get in...
