The Amber Hotel Konopiste isn't in a terribly great location if you're on foot. The most direct route from the train station would put you walking on a freeway - not something I was interested in doing. The long way is to walk into Konopiste and then back through the park, a bit of a trek. This hotel is really on the far outskirts of Konopiste, a good 15-20 minute walk from the chateau.

Additionally the hotel is very expensive compared to the hotel actually located at Knopiste. While I can't speak to the condition of the room at the hotel in Konopiste, I can't imagine they're much worse than the Amber Hotel. Room was generally clean, but run down, carpet was dingy, bed wasn't terribly comfortable. Staff was friendly enough and the grounds are very pretty.
