We stayed at Pension Barbakan for 2 nights. It was OK. We had the standard double room which was on the 3rd floor above the main entrance door. Since there was no air conditioning, we had to open the window but then we would not sleep because of the voices from the pub restaurant (just steps across the main entrance)... more

Pension Barbakan was ideally situated close to centre.We parked directly outside the hotel which overlooks the river.It had a pleasant restaurant.Breakfast was basic but fresh.Rooms were spacious ina quaint sort of way.We stayed 3 nights but water was cold throughout our stay in spite of our complaints.Staff were helpful and spoke good English. more

Nice location, classy rooms. One of the best places to stay in the Czech Republic for a quiet romantic break. Cesky Krumlov is getting too touristy, but when you stay here, you are in a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Go for the deluxe rooms, real nice. more

This is a wonderful find. The room was beautiful, comfortable and had a great view of the river. Breakfast was a buffet with breads, cheese, and scrambled eggs. The only criticism I have is that the walls were pretty thin so we could hear people talking in the hallway early in the morning, but it was not a big deal.... more
