Arriving at the Hotel Ambassador-Zlata Husa was a culture shock in reverse. Expecting Wenceslas Square to be an old-fashioned Bohemian cultural centre as depicted in travel brochures and on some postcards, we were confronted with a shabby half-finished cosmopolitan conglomeration of all the worst of Western Culture. On one side of this hotel there stands that old Czech stalwart, MacDonalds,... more

Had a triple room which was large, three beds, the usual (except separate shower and tea/coffee facilities). No probs with anything. Good breakfast. Location great. more

-from a five star hotel at least! took my girlfriend for her birthday, wanted to book a really nice hotel for a romantic weekend,so, 5 star was the only way to go.. when we arrived, receptionist was o.k,basic level of courtesy, no being shown to our room though.. the room was basic, certainly not the superior double that i booked... more

For a 5* Hotel the beds were surprisingly uncomfortable - unless you like a hard bed - but that's the only down side. The rooms are very large but, unfortunately, the air conditioning didn't work and the spa bath tended to spill over when full on. The breakfast is extensive and the meals are good. The staf were friendly and... more

Stayed there for 5 nights in July. It has 5 stars to it's name but that's about it. The furniture, carpets, elevators etc were really outdated, the rooms were less sound proof than a cardboard box and the attitude and service from the staff were appalling (for example, once I asked for a Metro map in the service desk, she... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in July. We find the location extremely convenient. It is in the centre of Wenceslas Square of new town. 5 mins walk to old town square and 15 mins walk to Charles bridge. Take bus no.119 from airport and get off at final stop (About 30 mins). You will see metro right besides you.... more

After reading and watching the pictures at the hotel's webpage i had high hopes for my stay, hopes I should not have had. The hotel is old and it was some time since it was renovated. My room didn't have aircon and the two days I stayed there it was amazingly hot and stuffy. When I opened the window to... more

Over-priced and under-whelming. Rooms are large and clean but filled with superfluous out-dated furniture (check out the grotesque pottery chandeliers!!), and the "jacuzzi" suite is a complete rip-off - more of a foot spa in a cheap plastic bath. This hotel was probably the place to stay in the 1950's but it's faded interior is about 60 years out of... more

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Prague. The hotel staff was great. Though they are not all fluent in English we had no problems in communicating. They took care of our every need. I can not say enough about the breakfast buffet. Our room was comfortable and had both a Jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. Room... more
