Stayed for five nights with my wife and nine year old daughter. We rather enjoyed the (easily mastered) metro ride into Prague centre. Yes, the lobby was a little smokey at times and the breakfast room was a little 'dog eared' around the edges - but the breakfast themselves (for the money) were incredible. The Globus is a bit out of town, but only 5 minutes from the Metro and located in a safe area of the city. The place wasn't smokey on our visit (5 nights in March 2009), the public areas were clean, bright and airy. The breakfast room was large and tidy if a bit grubby round the edges. Used this hotel as a stopping off point during our Czech and German travels. Although a brisk walk from the Metro it is by no means out in the sticks.
