I stayed on the fourth floor; the room was very bare with a grubby carpet, hallway light didn't work, the toilet bowl was cracked. Top shelf of the cupboard was covered in some white dust which covered my briefcase. The people were friendly enough and the breakfast, while basic, was sufficient. No minibar. ok fist of all we didn't book to stay here (see review for botel racek) but we found hotel very clean and nice. Metro stop very close so easy access to everything. Breakfast nice. A few things to watch out: - there was no parking place on the street where the hotel is located when I arrived (11pm) [parking seems to be a general problem there though] - there are no non-smoking rooms in the hotel (when I asked whether the room I got was a non-smoking one the lady at the reception replied... more

Stayed at this hotel last week in May. Lovely hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Very good family room on 5th floor. Perfect for metro and tram link into the city. Breakfast self service Czech breakfast consisting of cheese, ham, rolls, jam, honey, sausage, eggs, fruit, yogurt and chocolate cake which pleased my children.!! our last trip to prague in august 2006 and our second stay at the wonderful otar just reinforced how good this hotel is,quiet ,clean and with great friendly helpfull staff. my only word of caution is to forget your diet if you eat at the hotel restaurant as the portions are huge and the food delicious. Access to the city... more

A fairly basic hotel. HOWEVER! The service was good. The food was tasty and in plentiful supply. The whole place was spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly and helpful, with a good command of English. Despite the proximity of two main roads there was no intrusive noise and the beds were very comfortable. Wencesslas square was within walking distance... more

My husband and I visited Prague between 26 - 30 Nov 2005. It was our first time in Prague and we adored it, including our budget hotel OTAR*** which was a real find.
