Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is located in Praha 1, within easy walking distance from both Wenceslas and the Old Town Squares. Our rooms were large and there was plenty of storage space for luggage. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean with a good shower and plenty of hot water. The breakfasts were buffet and adequate. The lobby bar was basic with only wine, prosecco and beer on offer and pretty expensive (90 korona for a 330ml can of beer) and actually ran out of beer one night?!! Overall, a nice hotel in a good location for the sights.

My wife and friend arrived last night. They were originally booked to stay in the Royal Court Hotel, but on arrival at the airport they were handed a letter explaining the Royal was unable to accommodate them. Jet2 had chosen Praga 1 as an alternative "that they think they will love" and not only that they had reserved them a "suite" I looked at Praga 1 website and can only find "double rooms, twin rooms apartments" but absolutely nothing that resembles a "suite" What an absolute dump. A 4 star hotel with less than 1 star rooms. The room was very very basic, mouldy and dirty. Sock under the bed as it hadn't been cleaned properly. The room/hotel smelt of foul sewer and the room was damp. ( wife's friend started having breathing problems due to her asthma) Shown an alternative room which was just as bad! Rang Jet2 straight away only to be bluffed off with platitudes "we are ringing round to get you a room, but there is nothing". "Really sorry" but there is nothing. Now this was a problem made by Jet2 and they were made aware of the health issue and that neither room was fit for sleeping in. The time to resolve this would have been on the first night, not the next day. Piss poor service. Now back to the hotel. This morning having read other reviews on trip advisor, the hotel seems to have a couple of rooms that are well below 4 star and have done nothing to address the upset caused to clients. As in, get the rooms fixed up and cleaned properly! The damp and sewer smell is something else and would take more time and effort to resolve. I would be very wary of ever booking with Jet2 and if I were you, book a different hotel.

Good base for our 3 night stay. About 20 mins walk from the old town. We were on the top floor(6 th) . Large clean room Good breakfast Friendly reception Over all the hotel was ideal for us to use as a base for our third visit to Prague. It was nothing special, just a small clean hotel that ticked the boxes for what we expected of our 3 night trip to this wonderful city.

Lady at reception should not be working in the hospitality industry, not very helpful . Wi-Fi does not work and when you ask them , they say I’m sorry. Breakfast was okay. Bed very uncomfortable felt like you were sleeping on the floor, linen was stiff with starch.

Smashing hotel. Good location just out from city centre, about 30mins walk to Wenceslas square. Nice rooms with HUGE bed! Absolutely spotless. Really powerful shower, but a bit small, kept turning it hot, cold, off whilst in it! Staff very pleasant and helpful, spoke good English. Breakfast very good, something for everyone, best scrambled egg I’ve tasted in a long time. Kettle, coffee etc in room, but they don’t have English tea, not even at breakfast, so take your own! Hotel old but sort of art deco and everywhere is spotless. Loved it. Rang them from uk and they booked us a taxi to pick us up from airport - 950kr, 40€. They do have a shuttle bus but not good times for us, 3pm and 7pm. Thanks to all the staff for a very pleasant stay. Nice little bar across the road and round corner next to park. Cheapest beer I found in Prague, 38kr for0.5 l. Food good too, great burgers. The nearest tram stop is just across the park. This side, no.22, for castle and funicular, stop ujezd, for tower and observatory (well worth a visit as you get to look through the telescopes!) coming back it is stop karlava namest. Trams, and funicular free for over 65s. Always carry your passport. Enjoy Prague it really is a beautiful city.

First of all I personally would not class this as high as 4 star. That being said it is a hotel with everything you need and far from the worst hotel I have stayed in for the price. Rooms are large, comfortable and clean. They also have a fridge to keep water etc cold. We also had a safe for valuables. The shower was a bit problematic as it kept going from boiling hot to cold, but we just persevered. Not the end of the world. Despite what I had read in previous reviews, we had no issues with the staff we dealt with at all. They were friendly and welcoming and very helpful. The pointed out certain area to us, told us what trams to use and how to use them. They also allowed us to store our bags after check out while we spent the day out before travelling home. It was only a 15-20 minute walk from the main area of the city. Also has a Beer Spa just a few doors up. The only down sides really were the lobby bar does not appear to be a very relaxing or used area to drink. We did get a drink after we checked out but it wasn't easy. Only other downside is that there are no ironing facilities in the rooms. The hotel runs a service for ironing that you have to pay for. Other than this we had a very pleasant stay and would stay again. It helped us have a fantastic week in Prague.

Stayed at this hotel from the 1st to 4th of June 2023. The rooms are dated and probably need a facelift but are totally functional for sleeping in because thats really all we did here and shower. The bathroom was small but functional, the shower is a small cornor shower, bit small but we had no problems with it breakfast was totally adequate i have no idea why im reading complaints about this. Only thing id say was missing was bacon and only because i dont like the sausages. The staff were all lovely and helpful to us. Id suggest those complaining make the effort to speak to them. The older lady at breakfast was lovely. Regarding the small lobby bar if u want a drink ask reception we had no problem getting a drink. Only complaint id have was when leaving i checked under the bed for my things and it hadnt been hoovered in a very long time. Overall not bad for the money paid if the hotel updates rooms i hope they leave the staircase its beautiful!

We stayed in Praga 1 as a family of 4 with 2 teenage children. The best thing about the hotel for us was the size of the family room/suite - 2 big bedrooms gave us space and privacy. The selection for the continental breakfast was also fantastic - there was something to suit everyone, even when we got down there quite late. The location was excellent - all of the main attractions were in walking distance, and public transport links are close by. The only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is because the shower was quite unreliable and had to be hand held because it wouldn’t stay up in its stand.

Response from Cesare Francorsi, Owner at Hotel Praga 1
Responded 29 May 2023
Dear Mr. Chrise, Thank you for your stay in our hotel. Regarding your complaint. The police were called by an outside person - not from the hotel - because of an unusual behavior of an adult towards a child in the street after entering the hotel. It all took place at approximately 23:00. The police took the complaint from a stranger outside the hotel and came to the hotel to investigate in the best interest of the child. It was not the initiative of the hotel staff, who in fact were not even present at the original incident. Manager of the Hotel Mrs. Dosoudilova
