The price and location was great. Breakfast was really good. However, the actual room does not look like the photo on the website. There was no USA style plug, no hot water pot, and no face tissues. The staff spoke very little english. Just a bare bones room. Don't expect too much and you will not be disappointed. If you... more
Should be 2 star not 3!, but in expensive Prague oh so cheap. - Souless concrete block from the outside, and no smiles at check in. And as always at check in- despite asking via email for a room at the rear which is away from the road and trams, they always try to allocate you a room at the... more
We stayed in this hotel for 4th time. We payed only 40 euros per 2 days for double room. The breakfest is good for such price, dont expect caviar or plenty of different cheeses. You can choose from rolls, bread, ham, 2 or 3 sorts of salame, 2 types of cheese, eggs, some cakes, basic cereals, if you have luck... more
we went to prague for a week over the new year 08/09 we booked at the last minute and found the hotel olsanka on various websites, reports said it was basic but clean and a little outside the main city area. we booked and arrived in a cab we had pre booked for a transfer 550 CKr/£23, the hotel is in... more
Hi, We booked 3 rooms in this hotel and didnt expect much as we just paid 25 euros for a double room per night. But the hotel was good value. It also included hot breakfast. You got the feel that you are living an some old soviet style hi class hotel. The check in for us took a long time... more
Like the other reviews stated, it's a pretty run-down hotel(cracks on the walls, etc.), with poor service (eg no smiles, clearing breakfast before you're done, etc.). Having said that, it was exactly what I was looking for when I wanted to 'downgrade' my hotel when my friends left Prague and I was traveling by myself. It was 1) clean, 2)... more
We were 4 adults. Booked by booking.com. We came in Prague by car, from Romania through Wien. They have a Garage, but no parking spaces. So, they recomend to go to Flora Plaza. The point is that we booked for 3 dayz for 74 euros, and we paid for the parking lot 50 kronas/hour. For 1 day 1200 kronas (50... more
A typical Soviet hotel in the heart of one of the most spectacular cities in the world. Dated rooms, interior, exterior. Everything is like from the mid 80's. I would rename it to the Grand Soviet Olshnka Hotel. Nevertheless, it is worth of experiencing this hotel once in a lifetime. I enjoyed it! more
Whilst a little away from the old town, this hotel has a tram stop directly outside it. The trams run very frequently, don't think I ever waited more than 5 minutes. As such it's very easy to get around, takes about 10 minutes to get into the centre. Think my travelcard was 220kc for 72 hours. Hotel itself is very... more
