I was satisfied with my stay here, even after reading some of the reviews beforehand. The lobby is beautiful, the rooms (standard ones) were comfortable and clean, and lets face it, what more do you want when you hardly plan to be in them! (make sure you specify a no-smoking room). A nice hearty breakfast with plenty of choices. 10... more

This is a good hotel if you are looking for some luxury amongst the luxury hotels in expensive Prague. It is reasonably priced if you compare this with Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental. Both have better locations but if you are not fussy and don't mind walking, then Carlo IV is actually quite good. The rooms are adequately sized and... more

I booked this hotel without reading any reviews, I then read the reviews and wished I hadn't booked it. That's when I found out the deal I had booked was non-refundable! So we went, holding our breath, expecting the worst... and we're pleasantly surprised! I'd read reports of unfriendly and rude reception staff, but we were checked in by a... more

The things that were good were very good: staff were considerate and helpful, breakfast, room service and their restaurant served great food, the decor was lovely. The spa was clean, attractive and provided a pleasant experience. (I echo the sentiment though, that the pool is too cold to be enjoyable for long.) I truly enjoyed my stay. My discomforts were... more

The best thing about the Carlo IV is the web site, don't be fooled! The common areas are to five star standards but our room was about a two. The fixtures (sink and toilet) were chipped and the bath/shower was really poor and unstable underfoot. The pool was dirty and gritty underfoot, cold and none of the jets were switched... more

If you want luxury, but want affordable prices you must go to this hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them, being off the main part of central Prague, it took us 15 mins to walk into the old town, if you wander into the Easter market in Old Town square avoid the people... more
