Cheap and cheerful. Our Pension was a lot bigger than we could've wished for with a huge seperate kitchen/dining area. Well situated in Praha 2, 15 minutes walk from the centre, 2 mins walk from a supermarket and plenty of super cheap bars/eateries just outside the pensions. You should definitely try out Merlins restaurant, it's about 4 mins walk up the street towards the centre. Yum cheap food. You can get a starter, main and beer for less than a fiver.
