Stayed at the Scandic for a business trip. Good sized clean rooms with mini bar, tea/coffee making facilities, trouser press and room safe. Great location - opposite the main central station and a 10 minute walk to the old town, which was beautiful and had great restaurants at very reasonable prices. The Scandic also provides a good hot and cold... more

Having read the other reviews, I was quite impressed with this hotel. By Eastern European standards, it was very good service. Location was fantastic and the room was adequate and very comfortable. Staff were all very nice and breakfast was fine. Would stay there again for location alone. more

The Scandic retains much of the characteristics of its former life as a Holiday Inn, both positive and negative. Charming it is not, but the rooms were spotlessly clean, and we found them to be in good working order. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, even though the bar and restaurant were under construction. Best of all, the price was right,... more

My stay at the Scandic was enforced as the Mercure was full for the week. While the location and cleanliness of the hotel could not be faulted, there were a number of issues that disappointed. I was staying on business, and the room clearly had been set up for the single traveller, one cup, one glass in the bedroom is... more

The hotel is located just opposite Gdansk main train station so easy to find. This hotel is rated as 4 star and I belive its worth its stars. The rooms are nice and clean. Bathroom comfortable and with tube. Staff was friendly and supportive when I asked for power plug for my PC. Hotel restaurant is to recommend and have... more

We hadn't thought of going to Gdansk, but a fare of £8.99 (plus tax) was a rather good incentive. What a great location for a weekend away. The hotel reception was as accommodating as any I have experienced anywhere in the world, particularly so as we walked in at 2am. We had booked through a travel supermarket and the rooms... more

We stayed in the hotel for a few days in September. It was in line with fellow traveller descriptions on Tripadvisor. The hotel is well managed and maintained; but rather soulless. It is clean and the rooms are spacious. Very American. Don't expect any cosyness...the one and only hotel restaurant is run by TGI Friday's. It is well located, though.... more

The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. I like a quiet room, and so when I saw that the hotel was near a main road opposite the railway station, I asked for a room on the third floor at the back of the hotel - this room was very quiet, and I did not hear any outside noise. The only... more

Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport - small, friendly and very easy to find out. Ordered a fixed rate taxi from the hotel, cost 50PLN (approx. 13 Euro) - recommended. drive takes approx. 30 min. Gdansk City - definately a city to visit during summer. Gdansk is a part of tri-city Gdynia-Sopot-Gdansk, with wonderful restaurants, bars, beaches and lots of shopping. Gdansk... more

Would recommend the hotel with the cracking staff, clean rooms and cheap bar. Would not recommend going to Gdansk - extremely depressing and disappointing. Not very suitable for tourists or visitors, however the Poles are very hospitable. more
