The staff were extremely helpful and the hotel is old style but does have it's charm. The breakfast was ample and the dinner in the restaurant featured tasty Polish fare. My only complaint was the cigarette smoke. Since I am allergic to cigarette smoke, I was to have a non-smoking room but the room next to mine reeked of cigarette... more

Stayed for 3 nights. Room was large with a large bathroom and very clean. We faced the main road so had some traffic noise but after the first night we hardly noticed it. A great location as only a short walk to the main square. Ther was no air conditioning and we were fortunate to have lovely weather so we... more

We had the misfortune of having to stay in this place as our original hotel was booked up. It was dingy, old fashioned & a trifle smelly. I ended up sharing my bed with fleas & spent the following day scratching my head. The thought of it is making me scratch again. The breakfast was equally dire. Stay here if... more

Management response from
FHTEAM, the Fortuna Hotel team

Dear Madam, We are terribly sorry that you left our hotel with such unpleasant feelings. In twelve-year history of our hotel it never happened such a strange incident. It was an extraordinary bad luck, really! In spite of everything we cordially welcome to our hotel. Sincerely yours, the Fortuna Hotel team.

Stayed 3 nights at the Fortuna (not to be confused with the Fortuna Bis just down the street) after being bumped out of the Logos. Rooms are quiet and location is OK - 10 minutes walk to Old Town market Square. But our room was small, very "tired" and the bathroom contained just a small shower, basin and WC. Breakfast... more

Date travelled: Aug 9-13 2007 / Leicester Having trawled through loads of hotels online decided on this one. I found the comments of previous trip advisor guests v.helpful for all aspects of my trip....additional comments elsewhere fro Aushwitz/city/mines etc. I travelled alone so booked a four night stay-worked out at around £43 per night with b/fast. Room was clean and... more

Good Location, about a 8 - 10 minute from the Old Town Square. The room we had was a really nice size for European standards. The hotels itself was a little old and needed a little but of work. The bathroom was nice and big, but the shower was very tiny like on a cruise ship. Breakfast was provide and... more

This is a small (25 rooms) hotel, showing its age but some renovation eg bathrooms has taken place. If your view is that you just want a hotel for a base this is perfect. Short walk to the square and castle, it is clean and well run. Continental breakfast was good, and the staff are very helpful in organising day... more

Our previous accomodation was messed up so we decided to stay here. Cost was 410pln which is quite expensive, seeing our initial booking was less then this for 3 nights. The rooms are clean though and quite modern. Has a nice continental breakfast in the morning. Also, free 'guarded' parking so your car is quite safe. Location is walking distance... more

Stayed for five days over a weekend. The hotel was small, charming, very close to the center of the city (five minutes walk). Our room consisted of large bedroom, with a sitting room and en-suite. All were clean well maintained, serviced daily. The decor is of an earlier era, however all modern conviences were available, satilite TV, Fridge, tea-maker etc.... more

I had stayed at this hotel before and the location is fabulous. We booked about 5 months in advance and explained that we would have three in the room. We had the smallest room I have ever seen. We traveled with two others and there room was bigger than ours. We were staying 5 nights and to be honest thought... more
