Had an excellent stay at Hotel Alef, on sw. Agnieszka. I stayed in a triple room (5th floor, room 502, can be viewed on their interactive map on website) with my daughters aged 11 and 16. The staff spoke good English and were very friendly towards the children. The breakfast was fabulous, a buffet offering cereals, a selection of polish... more

Rate was great, location was great ( walking distance to everything) , lobby was attractive, staff was FABULOUS, the breakfast not very good and the rooms were drab. The green carpet was stained and the beds and bedding need updating. The room was quite cramped too. It was ok, but from the lobby I thought the rooms would be a... more

Please note that most other reviews are out of date in terms of location as the hotel is now in Agnieski Street. This is a most convenient place as it is lies between the castle and old town area and the Jewish Quarter. It is a 5 minute walk into the main square. We stayed there for 4 nights in... more

Having heard friends’ experiences of staying in anonymous concrete blocks of hotels on the wrong side of the Vistula we determined to stay somewhere ‘different’. And different is what you get at hotel Alef, certainly at the 17 Szeroka location where a few rooms are available above the charming restaurant. Service had a personal touch, because outside of restaurant hours... more

We went with friends who visited Poland last year and stayed at this hotel, so the fact they wanted to come back says it all. The hotel is in an excellent positon, in one direction a short walk from the casle and main square, head the other way and you're slap bang in the Jewish quarter. We booked the 2... more

Stayed at the Alef in Jewish area at SZEROKA ST. 17. (Not to be confused with the Alef in the Old Town) Overall an excellent, friendly and very comfortable place to stay. Breakfast excellent no set time, staff ask you evening before what time you want it served. Dined in Restaurant one night food and service outstanding. The Alef at... more

What can I say? This must be one of the nicest Hotels we have ever stayed in. We had a lovely suite decorated with hand painted furniture and oriental rugs. It is very individual and the staff are very friendly.....but if your idea of heaven is the typical anonomous box of the type found in Western Hotel chains then this... more

This is a wonderfully different experience from your usual tourist hotel. Located above one of Krakow's oldest Jewish restaurants in the heart of the old Jewish Getto, this was a charming and atmospheric experience. The rooms are furnished in pre WW 2 decor and are charming and very spacious. Bathrooms are pretty basic, but clean and adequate. The restaurant areas... more

I strongly recommend it. This is the most magical hotel in Poland I have ever stayed in. Old furniture, delicious simple breakfast, the spirit and magic of Old Kazimierz (Jewish district). Superb location with a lot of places to hang out. If you need a luxurious hotel this is not an option for you. But if you prefer places with... more
