We had flown to Krakow for a week and wanted to get away from the city for a few days. Zakopane is easy to get to, served by regular buses and only two hours south. I think we chose Hotel Sabala from the rough guide - there was nothing that jumped out at us from the reviews on Trip Advisor... more

We didn't stay at the hotel but we eat at the restaurant and they tried to defraud us of $500 Canadian Dollars. Luckily, our credit card company noticed. It seemed like a nice place, so we would have never suspected this from them. This experience has completely ruined our impression of Zakopane. If you do decide to eat or stay... more

Booked 2 rooms 6 months in advance and were put at opposite end of building on seperate floors. Our room was above restaurant and next to swimming pool changing rooms - very noisy. However we had to walk to one end of the hotel - down some stairs, back to the other end of the hotel and up some more... more

Really superb Hotel and Restaurant, the perfect Wedding venue! We held our wedding reception at Sabala Restaurant August 2007, most of our 100-person wedding party stayed at Sabala Hotel for a few days. The whole experience at Sabala was beyond reproach. Staff EXCEPTIONALLY courteous, friendly, helpful and facilitating; both hotel and restaurant are meticulously clean; rustic décor creates a fantastic... more

The staff were great, very helpful and made good suggestions on places to go etc. The food was good and the location in the middle of the main road was good for going out in the evenings on foot. The rooms were quiet, very clean and very comfortable. One of the rooms was very hot as it had large glass... more

The building is a lovely, large alpine chalet in excellent repair right smack in the middle of town. The street it is on is very crowded, but our room wasn't noisy. The room was a reasonable size with a pull-out sofa bed. If you use the sofa bed to fit more than 2 people in a room, it may be... more

The Hotel Sabala is exactly how you would imagine a ski lodge hotel should be - except that you need not ski to get there - it is very conveniently located in the center of Zakopane. The rooms are small, but charming, and impeccably clean. The pool/sauna/solarium is small, but nicely appointed, and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant... more
