We stayed here for one night in a double-bedded cell. The hostel is cool and the surrounding is ... well, interesting :) the cells are funny. The only downside is if you have a window opening to the garden, its hard to sleep because of the noises coming from the partying people or the big AC. otherwise, it is a... more

stayed at this hostel in june. first up it's close (5 mins walk) from the bus and train station. the area surrrounding the hostel looks a little dodgy with graffiti but seemed fine. the rooms are not the largest (old prison cells) but do the job fine and the beds are comfy. there are no curtains on the windows so... more

Two adults (one very pregnant) and child, we booked by email but but were only told when we arrived that we would have to pay for the extra bed if we were to avoid another guest sharing our (tiny) room, so not as reasonable as we had thought. Basically just felt we were in the wrong place. The Metelkova Meste... more

Do the guied tour, i think it is every day arround 3 pm and do not stay more than one night. Is a little noisy, but don´t forget we are in a youth hostel. We´ve stayed there just for the experience. more

Fantastic time at this unique accommodation - location really useful for train and bus stations, but a little further from the old town centre. Having said that, it is superb value and highly recommended to anyone! more

My wife and I are in our mid 20's & decided to stay hear based on all the good reviews and the feature of being a former prison. However, it seems that this hostel has a problem deciding whether they should cater for hostel visitors or tourists. Firstly the breakfast is shocking. Don't bother. Also staff are lazy. We stayed... more

What a strange experience it was staying there. The 3 of us stayed in a 4 bed room for 1 night which was well decorated and much more comfy then many hostels we have stayed in. However the hostel is next door to some youth club or something and there was about 70 emo/goth kids (about 14 years old) drinking... more

Overall had an enjoyable stay here, this is a good central no-frills establishment. Despite it's cool and arty quirkyness, don't forget it is still essentially a hostel so expect small rooms, shared bathroom, basic breakfasts etc. Double room turned out to be 2 mattresses put together on a hard surface which was the lowpoint. Then again I slept well enough.... more

Good location, close to train station etc. We booked a double cell, got twin. Didn't like that to start with but not the end of the world. The whole place was very clean, neat and tidy, bathrooms all good. Reception staff nice. Cells appropriate size for hostel rooms really. Breakfast was Ok for backpacker's breakfast, can't complaint. The place was... more

When I booked for us to stay in a '3 person cell' for 2 nights I never imagined that sleeping in a prison would be so enjoyable and fun. Our cell was G14 and , as we discovered, was unique as each cell is designed and decorated by an individual local artist. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful... more
