I booked to stay at Club Aliga from 25th September. The address of the hotel is Balatonvilagos so I got off the train at that station. Wrong ! The hotel is in fact 3 km away in Balaton Aligos. I had to walk for 45 minutes as there were no taxis. When I eventually found the hotel (it is not signposted)., it was closed. Infact the whole holiday complex was closed and there were no people anywhere. The hotel looks rundown with cobwebbs on the building and weeds everywhere. I noticed broken windows and a general run down appearance. It looked like it had not traded for months. Through the window I saw a kitchen with dirty stains on the floor. The shop was empty of stock.
The hotel is in an excellent location , yards from the shore of Lake Balaton. It is a resort and if it is closed there is nothing to do. Local investigations (virtually no one speaks English) suggests that the hotel closed possibly the middle of September.
I would recommend the next hotel, Volan.
