Stayed recently at the Marmara In Budapest for 4 nights. Room was good, large and well appointed, bed excellent. However air-con/heating was very noisy, door to the small balcony was impossible to open and as the hotel was very over-heated this was a problem. Some small but important touches were overlooked signifying poor housekeeping/ lack of customer care. For example... more

Hotel Marmara is a brand new hotel, that started operating in May. We stayed at the hotel from Aug. 18 to Aug. 23, having booked 3 rooms. The hotel location is supposed to be downtown, but you have to take the metro to go to all major sights. The metro station is a 5 minute walk form the hotel, located... more

We visited the Marmara hotel for 3 nights in early September 2009. The location itself is relatively central, only 5 minutes from the metro line into Deak Ferenck, and the tramstop for tram #'s 4 & 6 linking to Andrassy boulevard.its within walking distance (just)of the centre, probably a 20-30 minute walk, but we always used the public transport which... more

Just returned from Budapest with my wife. Marmara is a brand new hotel, and as such provides clean rooms at good condition. Location isn't downtown but a bit north of it but still is very close to the West-End mall metro station and other tram stations nearby which can bring you within minutes to any touristic location in Budapest… And... more

We found this new hotel (the taxi driver had never heard of it) a good value at 89 euro, but have some concerns about the functionality of its rooms. The room wasn't small, in fact the bathroom was quite large, but the furnishings got in the way of actually "living" there. Other than the bed there was no space to... more

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days with a friend recently and was very happy with everything. We had a cosy twim room which we found small but very clean and comfortable. The tea making facilities were a nice touch and adds to the homliness. Breakfast was lovely , location is perfect , cleanliness is A1 but the hotels... more

I organised a group booking at the Marmara Hotel with about 15 rooms at the start of May 2009. The hotel had only recently opened and so had some teething problems with staff, reception etc. The reception are is beautiful with an oriental elegance. The cafe and resatuarnt were not open at that time but are planned and will also... more

The hotel is brand new, so everything is shiny and clean. quit area within a walking distance from several sites, and is 2 minutes from the excelent metro. The stuff spoke good English, and was kind and helpfull. Breakfast was satisfactory. There where several minor malfanctions (like the fire alarm going crazy), probably due to being too new. I guess... more
