The Marriott Hotel on the banks of the Danube on the Pest side with every room overlooking the Danube was wonderful, and I could walk along the Danube promenade at night without fear as it was well lighted and there were many people out and about and many restaurants. The Marriott maintains a fleet of taxi drivers so it was... more

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. It was not my first visit there; I have been staying there for the last 10 years at least twice a year. But I want to write about Gundel Restaurant. I cannot get on their website as I am not a member there. I waited for about 10 years to make... more

Our stay at the Marriott was enjoyable. We upgraded to the excecutive level, and were able to take advantage of the concierge level with light breakfast in the morning and drinks in the late afternoon. It really does appear (as others have mentioned) that every room has stunning views of the Danube. We stayed for three nights, and did enjoy... more

Marriott Budapest was the first 5-star hotel in Budapest. It was been a landmark for many years. Recently all the rooms were renovated. All guest rooms have a view of the river. There are no windows on the “backside” of the hotel. The rooms look very “Marriott,” traditional and red. For some reason they did not renovate the bathrooms, so... more

We recently spent three nights at the Budapest Marriott and enjoyed our stay. The view from our room was outstanding and added to the overall enjoyment. The location couldn't be beat as it was close to all public transportation and within walking distance of everything also. We had a lot of rain when we were there, so we used the... more

I stayed at Marriott Budapest from May 29 to Jun 1st, one double room. The location of the hotel is strategic, in the very centre of Pest, close to Vaci Utca (main street of the city), famous Vorosmarty Ter, the metro station and above all on the banks of the Duna River. The view from the room is fantastic, on... more

I was really looking forward to staying in the Marriot, so it's perhaps not surprising that I was a little disappointed. The lobby is lovely, but check in and check out took longer than it ought to have because of queues. The room was nice enough, but I somehow expected something more special, more grand, maybe more 'Budapest'. It was... more

I have stayed at many hotels in the area....this particular Marriott has the best staff. They remember me year to year (even the servers!). thier reservation department (Maria Koscis is whom I... more

We usually try to stay in 'local' hotels while traveling in Europe. But we had read good things about this Marriott. and we were very happy with our choice. The rooms were nice, but the view of the Danube and Palace were spectacular. The price was reasonable, around $200. After we returned home my wife realized she had left something... more
