Small but adequate rooms;good breakfast; few minutes walk from tram and bus stops to go over the bridge or along the river. Stop called Clarke Adam!!!! Overall, the hotel was very nice and met all of our needs. It had a nice buffet spread. We loved that we could walk to most sights that we wanted to see. Budapest metro is not as advanced as other cities but we were able to navigate it well when needed. more

All allowances for cultural differences aside, the concierge service at the Carlton really knew no boundaries of rudeness. They were beyond unhelpful with any questions at all and threw out a palpable attitude that we were stupid English-speaking tourists not worth their very breath. I'll give it that it was close to the center of the town and some of the attractions, and the breakfast was OK as well , but as far as the people running the front reception goes I would give it a negative grade, they were very rude and not courteous at all, it was like we owed them something... more
