This hotel is situated a few kilometres to the west of Budapest, in the wooded hills that overlook the city. The rooms are good, the buffet breakfast very extensive in choice and the staff are very friendly. It is a pleasure to go from the heat of the city to the wooded calm of the Buda hills, and to sit... more

I booked this hotel ( an apartment) for myself, wife and child. I also booked a few double rooms for others in our party. I saw all the rooms and they all are very clean and comfortable with all you need (mini bar, tea/coffee making, hairdryer tv etc). The hotel also has bar, restaurant (indoor/outdoor) pool, kids pool, play area, sand... more

So it was our first time in Hungary, I was over to get my teeth fixed in Heviz near lake Balaton about a 90 minute drive south. We decided it would be good to spend the weekend in Budapest and as we have a 5 year old little boy the night life was not so important to us. Having looked... more

Okay - I can understand previous comments about the hotel being far away from the city, but is that really important? Certainly not for us - the bus 90 or 90A to the Moskva Ter (Moscow Square) interchange is frequent and if you follow advice on buying a BKV season ticket - you can get 1 day, 3day or 7... more

We stayed at the Normafa Hotel for 4 nights in late May. We chose this hotel after reading reviews on this site and we were not disappointed. The hotel is in a beautiful location close to walks in the woods and interesting flora and fauna. Service at the hotel is excellent with all the staff speaking English. Breakfast offers a... more

You must prepare yourself for a 20 minute #16 bus ride down to moscow square where you may take the subway or continue to Pest. Should you choose this, be sure to get the 3 day tourist pass. This proved to be too much for us, so we checked out and went to the Hilton in Buda. Otherwise it is... more

We stayed there for four nights in March this year. The Normafa is an excellant clean, friendly , calm quiet and traditional hotel in the hills - a bus ride up up up up hill - you can see all the city from the top (but not from the hotel rooms though so be warned if you like views as... more

We stayed at the Normafa for 6 nights and had a nice time there. The staff were excellent! The breakfast was wonderful!! Be prepared to take the bus a good 20 minutes to the subway station; it got a little tiring to have to do that by the third or fourth day. We were there during a bad heat wave... more

Easy 30 minutes down the hill by frequent public transport into the heart of Budapest. Railway run by children, slopes for sledging, woodland walks within 5 minutes walk of this lovely hotel. So different from my last review (Grand Scarborough). Fabulous cake shop/restaurant with coffee or real hot chocolate 10 minutes down the hill by bus. more

This hotel is about an hour from airport £15 in a taxi which can be booked through hotel email before you go. The Normafa is at the top of the Buda hills which has stunning views of the city and a national park across the road. I would advise a transport pass which is £12 for 3 days valid on... more
