I`ve stayed at the Hotel Hold 3 times(05,06,07), but to my dismay it was closed this season. Granted it`s not the most modern hotell in Pest, it has a great and very safe location. Breakfast is good, euro style(sorry ameros no bacon). The staff is helpfull, but somewhat limited in english, a english/german mix was better. The rooms are nice... more

+: 1. Great tourist location - near Parlament, StIstvan Basilica, Freedom square. Easy access to historic sites. 2. Easy access to metro and airport - 2 minutes to the metro station bluse line, direct connection to the airport by bus (from the end station of the line). 3. Historic building. 4. Good breakfast (for 3* hotel): 3 types of: vegetables,... more

The Hotel Hold is in an excellent location. The staff is pleasant and reasonably helpful. The room was large clean but older. I stayed one night at the Parliment (Best Western) which was newly redone and very nice but twice the price as the Hotel Hold around the corner. The Hold was actually on a more pleasant street. Trams and... more

My wife and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon (also went to Prague and Vienna). We didn't have reservations ahead of time - instead just tried to pick a nice but not overly expensive area, near the metro and walking distance to other sites. The only small negative was that there was some construction going on across the... more

Stayed here for one night. The single room had two single beds and a desk in a very long, very narrow room with a 'temporary set-up' feel to it. It was stange being able to see the security guard's torch in the opposite building, from bed, through the netted but un-curtained window. Arrived late so didn't use the restaurant. Breakfast... more

I am really surprised by some of the other reviews regaridng this Hotel. I went, with my girlfriend, to this hotel in March on the recommendation of some work colleagues and i'm glad we did. The hotel was clean, the room we had was a large double room with a balcony and the staff very friendly. Although i wasn't too... more

I thought the Hotel Hold was a quirky little place and found the staff to be friendly and helpful (as best they could be in English). The other reviews make me wonder about my own tastes/perceptions..... This is NOT a "typical" U.S. "boutique" hotel (I have stayed at many of them in my travels) but it is a good place... more

I booked a three-day stay at the Hotel Hold for May 19-21. After my wife and I arrived and checked in, we found that the room we were given was totally inadequate: tiny, confined, dingy. Plus, we had booked a double room, but what we got was clearly a single. The bed was small, and it had only one pillow.... more

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Hold (Moon) during a brief visit to Budapest. The hotel is located in the financial district (read: NO parking during the day, no matter what they tell you). It is quiet during the night and close the main attractions. Unfortunatelly, the staff at this place could not care less for the average tourist... more
