This hotel takes advantage of its original stonework and interior courtyard to create a cozy feel all around. And the rooms are VERY generous in size. Every staff member we encountered went the extra mile for us. The hotel is a stone's throw from the Opera House (and subway line) and close to the Jewish Quarter. We walked almost everywhere.... more

None of our party (13 plus Paddington) had been to Budapest before so hotel selection was a real shot in the dark. After much deliberation we chose Hotel Pest and what a little gem it turned out to be. The rooms and en suites were light, spacious and very clean and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was always fresh... more

This hotel was lovely. We stayed for three nights in MArch and it was perfect. Clean, comfortable and well located. The rooms have lovely high ceilings which make it spacious. Breakfast is fine, served in a lovely bright room. I would really recommend staying here. more

Central location near Opera House, but in a quiet street. Could walk to most things, incl some nice restaurants. Has a lift. Rooms are huge and kept clean. Bathroom good - excellent shower and hot water. No safe in room but there was one at Reception. Breakfast v good - cereals, egg, cheese, meat, fruit, juice. Staff always friendly. 24... more

Most travellers have already described the pros and cons of this hotel at length and I agree with them. It is a nice point for hopping into Budapest center in a surprisingly quiet location with spacious but unfancy rooms. For the price we paid we found this to be reasonable. The only thing I would like to draw attention to... more

We had never been to Budapest, so we needed a lot of direction from hotel staff on where to go, etc, which they were more than willing to provide. (We loved the first restaurant they recommended, Menza.) The hotel is right off Andrassy, a main drag, near the Opera house, with many sights in walking distance. The hotel's courtyard, which... more

The hotel was clean and the rooms spacious (though stark), but the service was not very pleasant and sometimes was even grudging. When I asked for an iron, the evening desk clerk refused, because he was the only one there. The next morning, the desk clerk refused because the house staff needed it. One iron for a fairly sizable hotel?... more

This hotel was booked for me and I was happy to see the good reviews on this site before I checked in. Overall, this is a good hotel, with large modern rooms and great bathrooms, and is on a quiet street. It seems like it was an old building completely gutted and renovated into a hotel rather recently. The breakfast... more

From the outside, just a door in a wall [in a re-development area when I stayed]. Once through that door, and what a transformation. I'll leave you wondering on that one. Set in the heart of the business are of Pest, right next to Andrassy and the Opera, a short walk to Warrior Square and the West End shopping complex.... more

We had never been to Budapest before and struggled with the hotel selection since we knew nothing about the city. We selected Hotel Pest based on reviews here and we couldn't have made a better choice! This is one of the nicest little hotels that we've ever found, with a very nice facility, great location and top level service. The... more
