Construction in the old part of Pecs made this hotel even more difficult to find than it ordinarily would be; however, a very friendly policeman hopped in his car and led the way. Located within walking distance of everything and in a beautiful building, the hotel was ultimately worth the effort. Although the rooms were basic with very hard beds,... more

We had a fantastic 4 nights here. Our room was comfortable, tidy and spotlessly clean, the reception staff couldn't have been more helpful and the location can't be beaten (right in the centre of town). We even had a little balcony overlooking the arcade which leads to the hotel entrance. The breakfast was a little bit disappointing - a good... more

Last week, I stayed at the Hotel Palatinus for two nights. The hotel itself is not particularly nice or terrible, just very bland. There was construction going on down the hall, the walls are very thin and the beds and furniture are past their prime. On the plus side, the location was excellent, as was the breakfast. The biggest problem... more

There aren't too many choices for hotels in pecs but this is probably one of the best around. Its only 3 stars but is very clean, our room was small but big enough for me and my girlfriend to be comfortable. The location is right on the main street with shops and bars along the road so is as central... more

A friend and I stayed overnight (Nov. 12) this year. There had been one pretty bad review recently, so we were initially a bit worried. However, we were very pleased with the Palatinus. I would agree with the previous poster that there is a 'datedness' about the rooms. However, they were scrupulously clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The restaurant room... more

I booked a triple through the hotel's website. Received a good rate. The room was clean with bathroom updated sometime within the past 25 years. Rooms could use some "freshening" as they have that 70s feeling. The hotel always has an "empty" feeling to me as it is a big place and they never seem to have too many guests.... more

Stayed 2 nights in Aug 2006 Grand old hotel on the Pecs mainstreet. As mentioned in other reviews, the lobbey is grand, and so is the rest of the building. Pros: -Location, spitting distance from 10-15 resturants and bars -Own undergound parking facility, 12€ day, signs to the facility from the main roads. Facility a bit tight for large cars,... more

Located on one of the main walking streets in the centre of Pecs, near most of the sights, this lovely hotel has a beautiful foyer, restaurant and bar. The rooms are adequate and you get what you pay for. When you register this is carefully and delightfully explained to you and you are given the opportunity of upgrading should you... more

I recently attended a wedding party held in the Palatinus Hotel on Kiraly U. in Pecs, Hungary. It is a lovingly restored old building in the art noveau style with magnificent Zsolnay porcelain inlay, stained glass, and curvy iron grillwork. The 6 course meal we had was a gourmet's delight of Hungarian specialities, the service impeccable and the gypsy music... more
