It was last year. We came to Szeged late, it was raining and Novotel (hotel where we slept three weeks earlier) was full, so we didn't have too many possibilities to looking for accomodation. In fact, we were happy that we have found any place to sleep. Tisza is in the center of town, in stylish, elegant building, could we... More

We booked a standard room for two but surprisingly there were three beds in it leaving literally no empty places there and its bathroom was unbelievably small lacking a real door (it had only a plastic door that could be moved like an accordion) and strange and loud noises came from it after flushing the toilet. I could accept this... More

Even by European standards awarding Hotel Tisza three stars may be a bit generous. Upon arrival I was very optimistic -- the hotel has nice architecture in the lobby and the staircase. It has some very fine large rooms suitable for gatherings, or, as was more often the case, the included breakfast. What was not so great was the room.... More

I loved this hotel. The building itself is an architectural gem. Some of the room and bathrooms may be smaller, but that is because this building just like many others used to be some wealthy family`s estate in the 18th-19th century and only after that in the 1920`s that it was made into a hotel. There is only so much... More

Located just round corner from large quite flower filled square. Some distance away from Railway station, and the whole city was undergoing major road works. But hotel was quite and clean. Bedroom and bath were very clean but bedding and pillow were rather uncomfortable. Stayed fro two non consecutive nights so did not bother too much about this. Breakfast was... More

Only the elegant chandelier reminds me that Tisza Hotel has ***. The small rooms are like in an old style dormitory. The one person room is crowded with three separate beds. There is hardly no electricity in the bathroom, the weak water flow accompanied with strange voices. The bedding has been overused, and significant holes on it. Although the receptionist... More

This is an old building with impressing high ceilings and decoration that reflects the late 19th century. We had a superior room that was not too big but had beautiful old furniture, large bed and a good bathroom. The breakfast was offered in an enormous room full of mirrors and was great, it was a pity we couldn't eat more... More

Online reviews and Lonely Planet have been largely complimentary of this hotel however I would rate it as my worst hotel experience in Hungary. I think we were allocated a standard room but I would rate it at 2 star maximum. I suppose the furniture was modern (probably 1980s) but was not nice and the room was barely large enough... More

This hotel is located just 1-1/2 blocks from the main square. It has recently been renovated. We had a standard room with contemporary furniture and no air conditioning. There are other options available. The room and bathroom were on the small side (typical of many European hotels). However, there are some very comfortable chairs in the lobby if you want.... More
