This is my 2nd stay here ( I am currently in the hotel), purely because I have some work commitments very close by, but the lack of viable alternatives in BB makes this place the only real choice, and I think they know it. Stayed one night during a tour of Europe. We booked the Economy Double (perhaps some of the other reviewers took the more expensive rooms) - it was very grim. Good hotel to find if you're travelling by car, it's tall, it has it's name on top and is easily accessible from the main roads. It has it's own car park with an attendant. The room was big and the bed was just about OK. The mini bar fridge didn't work - but there wasn't much in it anyway. Very... more

We stayed 6 days in Hotel Lux and would love to stay again because of friendly staff, good breakfast and room service.Apart from room furnutires everything was good and enjoyed it.The hotel is not expensive at all hope it will remain the same prices all year around. more

The Hotel Lux looks like a communist era building, with little landscaping and few amenities in Banska Bystrica (BB). It is an easy 500 m walk from the bus station, if you arrive in BB by bus. As with other central europe locations, it does not have air conditioning. Check in was pleasant and fast, the clerks spoke excellent English.... more
