The De Rome has a major draw: its gt location. On the edge of the old town and overlooking the park/ river it is a short stroll to everywhere. Slightly "Soviet style" harsh decor by western standards....but that's all part of the Riga experience. Rooms on the exec floor can have good park views but the downside is the tram... more

Great location, right on the edge of the old city. The hotel was clean, quiet and the staff were friendly enough. We were initially put into a smoking room which stank but the staff were happy to put us into a non-smoking room. I thought the TV satellite choice was very poor and you had to pay for anything decent.... more

I am in Riga quite often and this time I decided to try the Hotel de Rome for one night, 29th to 30st of October. Booked a suite on the 6th floor with fantastic views over the park and part of the old town. The room is spacious and clean, beds are comfortable, bathroom is big will well stocked toiletries.... more

I've stayed here twice, and I might be tempted to stay again. It's in a pleasant location down a narrow cobbled road, right in the city centre. The rooms are very large, some with refurbished original period features. The bar is comfortable, but perhaps they should at least serve snacks for guests arriving late.
