We stayed in the Metropole for two nights during the New Year. The hotel was nice, but perhaps a little worn out and missing some details, that would easily make this a even more better hotel. Just returned from weekend in Riga. Booked triple room (for 3 adults) . I asked them to put us in a quiet room but as all the family rooms were facing the front (and hence the noise of the trams outside), they put us on the 6th floor. Thank god they did as the noise of the trams from 6am... more

The Metropole is good value! Excellent location for Old Town, Opera, Markets, Cinema, Bus Station and just a short walk to the Occupation Museum (which was really interesting.)
