I had a little room at the side of the street on the 4th floor. Although the window was shut the noise from the street was so high it was very difficult to sleep. After two nights I changed the hotel. The breakfast was modest. The staff was friendly. more

The location is GREAT (right in the middle of the old city), the price very good considering the location, restaurants and an open-till-late-at-night small shop next to it. Only downside that the rooms are REALLY just the basics (no air conditioning for one). Other than that, it was GREAT!! more

Just spent New Year at the Hotel Kolonna Riga from 29-12-08 until 02-01-09. The Hotel is in an excellent position to look around the old town. If you are going to Riga for business I would not recommend Kolonna Hotel. Try to find a good deal at some of the four or five star hotel.
